Main Event is an unique service which brings together some of Rhode Islands most talented wedding professionals in photography, disc jockey and HD video production. We work together in a collaborative effort to create the perfect wedding experience.
This is accomplished by utilizing our online wedding planner, along with 24/7 customer service from the owners Michelle and Bob Carpenter
Planning three wedding services, to run smoothly on your wedding day, has never been so easy.
Michelle and Bob have been providing wedding services to the New England area for
over 18 years with over 1800 happy couples that we have had the pleasure to meet and
bring their dreams to fruition.
Michelle and Bob have worked every facet of their
business. Michelle is not only the senior photographer and graphic designer of Main
Event but has been a disc jockey, a videographer and video
editor. Bob who is our senior disc jockey has also served as videographer and worked as Michelle's second camera man. Bob is also in charge of HD video editing and is our web designer and architect.
Together they over see every aspect of Main
Event, whether it be the editing of images or the staff at your
wedding. They are an active part in each and every wedding from wedding coordination to ensuring each and every couple is
having a wonderful bridal experience.
Meet Our Staff
Main Event provides their staff with all of the equipment needed to provide our clients
with the
signature style wedding images, video and sound that we are known for.
Our Photographers
Our primary photographers are provided with Canon 5D cameras.They have two camera bodies on
hand, one as a main camera and the second for back up. We do provide the photographers with
auxilliary lighting to be used at their discretion. Lead photographer's will have an
array of lenses to complete the wedding day but the prime lens used will be a zoom. Main
Event also provides the media CF cards which are then handed back to the office after the wedding for backing up and editing.
Secondary photographer are currently provided with the Canon 40d cameras with lens and
flash.

Our Disc Jockies
Our Disc Jockeys all utilize the Bose Pas Sound Systems, Denon mp3 cd players, Sennheiser Mics, and backup. They are all supplied with an Mp3 CD music library and have backups of each CD. All DJs come to the office before each wedding and are provided a CD of all the important music for your day including your first dance song and other essentials, along with a backup of that CD.
Our Videographers
We currently use the Sony High Definition Z1U camera and backup. New for 2009 we have upgraded to glidecam smooth shooter video stabilizers for ultra fluid video footage. We can provide High Definiton copies on Blu-Ray and Standard DVDs.
How it Works
In Office:
After your wedding is complete all media, pictures and video come directly to the Main
Event office for editing. This is where the magic happens. The Main
Event editing office is equipped with Mac computers we use programs such as Adobe
Creative Suite, Lightroom and Final cut Pro to fine tune your wedding media and create unique works of art.
Back Up
Back up is a tremendous part of everyday life with Main Event. Not only for the typical things you'd expect like extra equipment and people but backup that you would never consider. For instance in the digital age especially photography where digital images are so important, many people rely heavily on computer hard drives. All hard drives are extremely vulnerable to failure, either from an accident, heat or just from everyday use. Everyone that owns a computer will eventually succumb to hard drive failure, its ineveitable. So having a game plan in place is essential.
As we install the pictures onto our hard drives, we use a software program called " Time Machine" that automatically backs up all of our images onto a seperate 5 TB RAID. Once the backup is complete we also burn an originals DVD of all the RAW files. So there are not only one copy but two.
We provide all our staff members with the necessary equipment. We have a regular updating process of every 2 to 3 years, not only to update to more modern equipment, but to ensure that the likelihood of equipment failure is minimized.
Education
Our staff is always looking to cultivate and develop new and exciting techniques. We have
regular motivational meetings as well as attend many of the photography, videography
and DJ conventions throughout the season. We are members of the WPPI, PPA, and NAME. We also network with our local peers, and national
professionals. We share and gather information to provide our clients with the best possible wedding experience.
